JobTitle Site Environmental Health & Safety ManagerLocationSwords / North Dublin (site-based, long-term project)Salary & Package€85,000 – €95,000 base + generous benefits packageContract TypePermanent / Long-term (with a strong pipeline of work)Reporting ToProject Director / EHS Director - Main ContractorRole PurposeThe Site EHS Manager will lead and manage all health, safety, environmental, and quality aspects for a major construction site (or multiple sites) in Swords / North Dublin. You will ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and company EHS standards, embed a strong safety culture, and drive continuous improvement in EHS performance. This is hands-on, site-facing work, interacting with site teams, subcontractors, clients, and senior management.Key ResponsibilitiesTake full ownership of EHS management for the site(s): planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, plans, and systems in line with statutory regulations, ISO standards, and best practice.Conduct risk assessments, method statements, site safety plans, toolbox talks, audits, inspections, and site walkthroughs.Monitor and enforce compliance with health & safety legislation, environmental regulations, and company EHS standards.Lead incident & near-miss investigations, root-cause analysis, corrective actions and ensure proper lessons learned.Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, local authorities, and third parties on EHS matters.Support subcontractor and supplier EHS performance: vetting, audits, inductions, monitoring, performance metrics.Promote and enforce safe behaviours, culture and training programs among construction staff and subcontractors.Prepare and present site EHS reports and KPIs to senior leadership / project management.Coordinate emergency preparedness, environmental controls (waste, pollution, spill control), and sustainability initiatives.Support quality assurance / quality control functions in alignment with EHS (e.g. materials handling, site housekeeping).Engage proactively with site management, operations, and subcontractors to ensure EHS is embedded in planning, scheduling, and method selection.Ideal Candidate / RequirementsDegree or qualification in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Construction or related field (NEBOSH, IOSH, etc.).Substantial experience (typically 7+ years) in EHS management on large construction / infrastructure projects, preferably with Tier 1 contractors.Proven experience in a site-based EHS leadership role, managing safety and environmental compliance and culture.Strong knowledge of Irish / EU health & safety and environmental legislation, regulations, and standards.Experience in conducting risk assessments, audits, investigations, and implementing corrective actions.Capability to influence site teams and subcontractors to drive safety performance and cultural change.Excellent communication, reporting, presentation, and leadership skills.Comfortable working onsite, hands-on approach, able to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders.Experience in data centre / mission-critical, commercial, residential or mixed-use construction is a plus (if the contractor has those project types).Certification such as NEBOSH Diploma, IOSH, Lead Auditor or other recognized safety qualifications an advantage.Strong computer skills — MS Office, EHS / audit software, reporting tools.Please get in touch by applying here, email me on or call me on
