Our client, a market-leading distributor of electrical products and solutions is seeking an Inventory Accountant to join their finance team. This is a hands-on, analytical role focused on ensuring accurate inventory reporting, strong stock control, and meaningful insights that support both financial performance and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Maintain accurate inventory records within the ERP system (Microsoft D365) and reconcile to the general ledger Investigate stock discrepancies and support continuous improvement of stock controls Coordinate and analyse cycle counts and annual stock takes Manage costing and valuation, including landed cost accuracy and stock valuation reviews Support month-end close activities, audits, and preparation of inventory schedules Identify weaknesses in inventory processes and contribute to system and control enhancements Requirements: Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent) OR equivalent experience in a similar role. 2-5 years' experience in inventory, stock, or supply chain accounting Strong Excel and data analysis capability; comfortable with large data sets Experience working with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Navision, etc.) - Microsoft D365 experience is a plus Background in distribution, manufacturing, wholesale, or retail Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and a collaborative mindset Skills: inventory stock microsoft D365 ERP stock control audit
