Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing large quantities of food in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen setting. This role requires a passion for cooking, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain consistency and quality in every dish produced. Experience in pastry preferred.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare, cook, and present food in accordance with the company's recipes and standards.
* Work efficiently and manage time effectively in a high-output kitchen environment.
* Follow food safety and hygiene guidelines to ensure a clean and safe kitchen.
* Assist with inventory management, including ordering and stock control of ingredients.
* Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and accurate production of meals.
* Monitor and maintain the quality and presentation of dishes before they are sent out.
* Help develop and test new recipes or modify existing ones, under the direction of senior chefs.
* Ensure that equipment is used correctly and maintained to ensure safety and optimal performance.
* Adhere to health and safety standards, including maintaining cleanliness in all areas of the kitchen.
* Assist with training and mentoring junior kitchen staff.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Production Chef or in a similar culinary role in a large-scale kitchen.
* Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen equipment.
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent food quality.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
* Culinary degree or relevant qualification (preferred but not essential).
