Senior Buyer
Working with my Cork-based client, I'm seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to lead and develop the company's procurement function.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies to support operational needs.
2. Monitor stock levels and ensure consistent availability of required materials and goods.
3. Collaborate with operations and production teams to align supply plans with project and budget timelines.
4. Analyse inventory data to manage reorder levels and optimize stock control.
5. Oversee the resolution of any procurement or inventory discrepancies.
6. Support internal teams in managing purchase orders and closing procurement activities.
7. Maintain efficient warehouse organization and space utilization.
8. Build and sustain strong supplier relationships while ensuring value and reliability.
9. Participate in cost control and process improvement initiatives.
10. Track supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards.
11. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the supply chain function.
12. Provide regular reporting and updates on material usage and procurement performance.
Person Specification
13. Qualification in Supply Chain, Business, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
14. Strong organizational, analytical, and administrative skills.
15. Proficient in MS Office and familiar with ERP/procurement systems.
16. Proactive, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
17. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
18. Strong communication and relationship management skills.
19. Self-motivated with a collaborative approach to continuous improvement.
