Overview Our client, a Listed Business in the distribution sector, is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Head of Finance to join their growing finance function in Dublin. Working closely with the Finance Director, this is a Senior leadership role leading an established Finance Team and will have a strong focus on driving profitability through actionable insights, operational excellence, and cross-functional collaboration. This is an exceptional opportunity for a commercially minded Finance professional who is looking to progress their career as this role will have progression opportunities within both this business and wider PLC group. Ideally it will suit someone at a similar level or someone at Finance Manager looking for a step up (followed by another to FD level in 2-3 years). This role is North Dublin based (3 days on-site). Key Responsibilities Operations Finance Partner with operational leadership to maximise efficiency across core business areas. Maintain accurate forecasts for margin, cost, and cash flow. Conduct scenario analysis to identify business improvement opportunities. Monitor and report on KPIs, identifying issues and implementing solutions. Contribute to strategic planning over a 3-year horizon. Financial Shared Services Ensure the smooth operation of general accounting activities. Maintain high supplier invoice matching rates. Drive process improvements to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and consistency of work from the Shared Services Centre. Financial Control Oversee cash and working capital management. Manage pension accounting, taxation, payroll, and intercompany transactions. Ensure compliance with IFRS 16 and coordinate month-end reporting. Budgeting & Forecasting Lead monthly forecasting processes. Coordinate the annual budget cycle. People Management Lead and develop a team of finance professionals at varying career stages. Drive productivity improvements through automation, AI, and robust systems. Experience & Skills Required Qualified accountant. Minimum of 3 years in Finance Manager/Senior Finance role. Ready to progress to a Finance Director position within 23 years. Experience in distribution or manufacturing (advantageous but not essential). Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. ERP system experience.
