We are Hiring an Assistant Director of Nursing - ADON to lead a Nursing Home in Dublin, Ireland.
Other locations hiring ADONs: Dublin, Waterford, Tipperary, Limerick, Mayo.
Responsibilities
Support the Director of Nursing in overseeing the clinical care of residents and the overall daily operations of the nursing home.
Promote and embed a culture of person‑centred care, ensuring residents are supported to maintain independence, wellbeing, and avoid unnecessary hospitalisation through effective liaison with families and the multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrate strong clinical expertise in the care of older persons, ensuring practice aligns with current evidence‑based standards and best practice guidelines.
Assist in the efficient management of resources to support continuous quality improvement and safe, effective service delivery.
Participate in the daily supervision and management of the home, including conducting nursing rounds and supporting team coordination.
Support the development, review, and implementation of policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, including Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) National Standards.
Act as Person in Charge in the absence of the Director of Nursing and assist in managing complaints, incidents, audits, and quality assurance initiatives.
Provide clinical leadership, supervision, mentorship, and competency assessment for CNMs, nurses, and care assistants in accordance with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) professional guidelines.
Support human resource functions including staff supervision, roster management, performance reviews, recruitment, and the delivery of induction and ongoing training programmes.
Maintain professional development through continuous education, reflective practice, participation in seminars/conferences, and adherence to strict confidentiality standards.
Requirements
Must be registered with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (formerly An Bord Altranais) with active registration.
A minimum of five years’ post‑registration nursing experience is required.
Demonstrated knowledge of relevant healthcare legislation and Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) Standards for Residential Care Settings is essential.
Previous experience in an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) role is mandatory.
