Social Care Worker/Senior Support Worker

About the Role
As we expand to provide additional services, we have opportunities within our Orchard Community Care division at our homes in Co Roscommon for full-time and part-time Social Care Workers.
We welcome you to join our team to provide residential and day services to children and adults with medium to profound disabilities, including life-limiting conditions. Our multidisciplinary teams include psychologists, behavioral therapists, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists.
Working on a shift rota, you will engage in daily activities and routines, providing direct support to those we care for and contributing to their development, health, and wellbeing.
Essential Requirements:
* Qualification at Level 7 or above in Social Care, Social Science, Psychology, Education, Youth & Community, or related field
* Full manual driving license valid in Ireland
* Eligibility and availability to work with us
Desirable:
* At least one year's recent experience in social services
Main Responsibilities:
* Support the daily running of the service and implement a person-centered approach
* Ensure personal plans are completed in line with regulations and standards
* Support individuals in their daily lives and choices
* Maintain files for HIQA inspections
* Engage with families, clinicians, and the community
* Implement positive support programs
* Promote independence and community integration
* Stay updated on social care policies and sector changes
* Motivate and support individuals in planned activities
* Lead key working in collaboration with individuals
* Assist with personal care and daily needs
* Educate yourself about each individual, using reflective practice
* Work as part of a team, supporting colleagues and attending meetings
* Maintain confidentiality according to GDPR
* Conduct health and safety checks, risk assessments
* Manage medication in line with policies
* Liaise with multidisciplinary teams and families
* Observe and report health and safety issues
* Participate in person-centered planning and meetings
* Work flexible shifts as needed
* Perform other duties within the scope of the role
