Location: UPMC Whitfield HospitalJob type: PermanentOverview Of RoleDue to the continued growth of UPMC's Radiotherapy Department in Whitfield Hospital, we are recruiting a Driver to provide additional transport options for the patients, clients and service users attending the Radiotherapy Department of Whitfield Hospital and University Hospital Waterford.Primary Duties And ResponsibilitiesPrimarily responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of patients, clients, service users, staff and medical supplies within the Irish Health system.To ensure patients, clients and service users (often with limited mobility or disabilities) are safely transported to and from medical appointments and day services.To assist with the delivery of medical records, lab specimens, and pharmacy supplies between Whitfield Hospital and University Hospital Waterford.To perform daily pre-shift checks (tyre pressure, fluids, lights) and ensure vehicles are kept clean and roadworthy.To strictly adhere to Safe Driving at Work Policies, Road Traffic Acts and Infection Control Standards.To provide manual handling and "people movement" support, ensuring the comfort and dignity of passengers throughout their journey.To work as part of the UPMC team in fast-paced clinical environments where patient care and service is our top priority.Health & SafetyCandidates must be in a state of health that allows for regular and efficient service, including physical stamina for manual handling.As an employee of UPMC, you will take reasonable care of your own Health and Safety and that of any other person who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work.Co-operate with UPMC in ensuring that statutory regulations, codes of practice, local policies and departmental health and safety rules are adhered to.Not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided in the interests of health and safety.Information GovernanceConfidentiality And SecurityYour attention is drawn to the confidential nature of information collected within UPMC.
