Catering Assistant Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Catering Assistant to join our team.
Job Purpose:
The primary role of the Catering Assistant is to assist with the preparation and serving of meals and beverages to customers, ensuring a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen and service areas.
Responsibilities:
* Assist with food preparation tasks, including preparing snacks and sandwiches as required.
* Store and distribute kitchen supplies and ingredients efficiently.
* Maintain a clean and organized counter area.
* Prepare and serve beverages, operate the cash register, and maintain a high standard of hygiene in the assigned area.
* Collect and wash dishes, and clean the kitchen, including washing appliances, equipment, work surfaces, floors, and using cleaning materials properly.
* Set up dining and buffet areas according to the catering manager's instructions.
* Implement health, safety, and welfare policies in the workplace, adhering to relevant regulations such as the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007.
* Participate in special events and functions as required.
* Attend training courses to enhance skills and knowledge.
* Perform other duties relevant to the post as allocated by the Catering Manager.
Qualifications:
* Possession of a valid Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification.
* A valid HACCP qualification.
Experience:
* Preferable 6 months of relevant work experience.
* Familiarity with food hygiene practices and procedures.
Skills:
* Sound knowledge of hygiene and food health and safety.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Effective communication and customer service skills.
* Previous experience working in the catering industry.
