An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join a leading life sciences organisation on an initial 6 month contract. The role will work closely with the wider finance team, supporting accurate month-end reporting, financial analysis, and continuous improvement across finance operations.Key Responsibilities:Manage day-to-day finance operations including banking, accounts payable, and accounts receivable activities.Support the month-end close process, ensuring all general ledger and sub-ledger postings are completed accurately and on time.Prepare monthly management accounts including profit & loss accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting financial analysis.Perform margin and variance analysis, providing clear commentary and actionable insights to management.Produce regular financial reports, KPI reporting, and business performance analytics.Work closely with commercial and operational teams to ensure accuracy of financial data and reporting.Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.Support external audit processes and respond to audit queries in a timely manner.Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of financial controls, systems, and reporting processes.Assist with cash flow reporting, payroll support, and other ad hoc finance projects as required.Key Requirements:Newly qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CPA or equivalent) with minimum 2+ years' relevant experience.Strong financial accounting and month-end reporting experience.Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; PowerPoint experience advantageous.Experience working with ERP/accounting systems.Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.Self-motivated, organised, and capable of working to tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
