We are urgently seeking a Staff Nurse - Theatre Recovery for a hospital in Cork Ireland.
Nurses will be required to work days, nights, and weekends.
Responsibilities Provide safe, high-quality post-anaesthetic care to patients in the Theatre Recovery Unit (PACU).
Monitor and assess patients' airway, breathing, circulation, level of consciousness, and pain management post-operatively.
Identify and promptly respond to complications or changes in patients' clinical condition, escalating concerns appropriately.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with protocols and guidelines.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care and observations.
Maintain patient safety, dignity, and comfort at all times.
Collaborate effectively with anaesthetists, surgeons, and the multidisciplinary team.
Adhere to infection prevention and control policies, health and safety standards, and NMBI guidelines.
Requirements Registered General Nurse with active registration on the NMBI Register.
Recent experience in Theatre Recovery/PACU or an acute theatre setting is desirable.
Current BLS certification; ACLS is desirable.
Strong post-operative assessment and clinical monitoring skills.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
