Purpose of role
The Locum Consultant Paediatrician S.I Neurodisability works alongside existing Consultants in the Paediatric Neurodisability service at Children’s Health Ireland (CHI). The role provides healthcare to children with neurodisability and supports general paediatrics. It includes inpatient and outpatient care, development of the cross‑city department, continuous quality improvement and improved access for patients through collaboration with sub‑specialty consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
At the Rotunda this post is the single senior point of contact for infants with neurodevelopmental concerns, provides specialist neurodisability input to the Fetal Medicine service, counsels families and engages with the Developmental MDT.
Essential Criteria
Registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland in the specialty of Paediatrics.
Ideally, a minimum of two years certified postgraduate training in paediatric neurodisability or a strong interest in the field and a willingness to develop skills with support from the neurodisability team.
Full specialist registration within 180 days of interview, with ongoing renewal as required.
Desirable Criteria
Clinical fellowship in Neurodisability, national or international.

Knowledge of the Irish health sector, national health programmes and health reform agendas.
