Graduate Opportunity - Multimedia Executive
Barretstown is a charity organisation located in Ballymore Eustace, County Kildare which serves children affected by cancer and other serious illness through its residential programmes and outreach programmes in hospitals, schools and communities across Ireland. Barretstown has served over 150,000 campers since it was founded in 1994. Barretstown is Ireland’s largest provider of medically endorsed therapeutic camps and programmes for children affected by cancer and other serious illnesses, aligning to the National Cancer Strategy in providing for the unmet psychosocial needs of children affected by cancer and other serious illnesses.
Overview
The role is to join Barretstown’s dynamic team as a Multimedia Executive. This is an opportunity for a recent graduate to develop skills in digital content creation and graphic design in a mission-driven environment. The successful candidate will create compelling visual content that brings Barretstown’s mission to life across multiple channels, telling the stories of the children and families we serve while supporting fundraising and awareness efforts. The role involves duties across graphic design, brand support and digital content creation.
Responsibilities
* Graphic Design: Design graphics for social media posts, campaigns, and digital advertising
* Create marketing materials including flyers, posters, and event collateral
* Design email newsletter graphics and digital communications materials
* Develop simple infographics and visual content for reports and presentations
* Support the creation of branded templates for consistent visual identity
* Design materials for fundraising campaigns and donor communications
* Assist with website content updates including optimized graphics and visual elements
Brand Support
* Ensure all creative output aligns with Barretstown’s brand guidelines
* Collaborate on campaign concepts and content ideas
* Work closely with programme staff to capture authentic camp experience
* Support fundraising and events teams with their content needs
* Attend camps, events, and activities to capture content (may include occasional weekend work)
* Contribute creative ideas and stay informed about digital content trends
Digital Content Creation
* Create engaging video content for social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok
* Film and edit footage from camps, events, and programmes while maintaining sensitivity to safeguarding protocols
* Produce short-form video content including social media clips, event highlights, and testimonials
Requirements/Experience
* Recent graduate with a degree or diploma in Multimedia, Graphic Design, Digital Media, Communications or related fields (graduated within the last 2 years)
* Solid graphic design fundamentals including typography, color theory, and layout
* Experience in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and After Effects
* Basic video editing and production skills with understanding of storytelling principles
* Familiarity with content formats for social media platforms
* Photography skills and comfort using digital cameras
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Experience with content management systems or website platforms
