About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Standards and Compliance Team in Ireland, working on the delivery of large-scale energy projects.
The role focuses on the engineering support of energy assets from detailed design through to energisation. This includes responsibility for associated HV infrastructure and substations, ensuring effective integration of renewable plant with the transmission and distribution networks.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support electrical engineering activities across solar, wind, thermal generation and BESS EPC projects
Provide technical input from design through construction, and commissioning
Provide engineering oversight for substations associated with energy projects
Review and approve electrical documentation, including:
Electrical layouts and single line Diagrams
Equipment specifications
Protection philosophies and settings
Inspection and Test Plans
Coordinate with EirGrid, ESB Networks, OEMs, and EPC delivery teams
Interface with civil, mechanical, SCADA, and plant controller teams to ensure integrated project delivery
Attend site to carry out inspections, witness testing, support energisation, and resolve technical issues
Provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior engineers within the team
Ensure all works comply with grid codes, safety rules, and statutory H&S requirements
Required Experience & Qualifications
Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Minimum 7+ years’ experience in energy or EPC project delivery
Proven experience delivering utility-scale solar, wind, thermal generation and/or BESS projects
Familiarity with testing, commissioning, and energisation processes
