BUSINESS SECTOR: Food Ingredients JOB TITLE: Research and Development Graduate PURPOSE: Food Ingredients: Support the development and improvement of processes and ingredients derived from milk, casein and whey, buttermilk and fat filled milk. FUNCTION: Research & Development and Technical support LOCATION: Nenagh (with support for Tipperary) MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Key responsibilities will include: Support projects for NPD as well as improving or trouble shooting current products Meeting project deadlines and outcomes as agreed with Department Manager. Evaluating ingredients and processing aids for Dairy Ingredients complying with regulatory requirements. Functional Testing of powders using standard methods as well as developing methods for specific applications. Support in experimental design (process and ingredients). Sourcing and Evaluation of scientific papers. Conduct pilot trials in external Research Institutions as required. Scale up from bench trials to pilot trials up to industrial trials. Liaise with Technical, Production and Engineering on production trials. Capture relevant information during trials and carry out post trial product review for QA and Production Specifications. Preparing reports and presentations on projects. Responsible for compiling support documentation for all samples being dispatched to customers Conduct work within budget parameters Undertake other duties as required in line with business needs Learning and Development program requirements in line with role and duties. KEY EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS: Degree(s) in Dairy / Food Science or Technology, Food Engineering and/or related disciplines. Experience in working with Dairy or Food Ingredients Experience in a similar role within the Food Manufacturing Industry. Analytical ability and an ability to problem solve.
