Job Title: Technical Support Officer (Band 6)
Location: Belfast
Salary: £19.32 per hour
Hours: Full-Time, Temporary | 37 hours per week | Monday–Friday,
On behalf of our client, Apple Recruitment Services are delighted to be recruiting for a Technical Support Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake technical assessments of housing scheme applications, considering design compliance, costs, and value for money.
Conduct pre-assessment discussions with Housing Association partners to facilitate timely scheme approvals.
Provide technical advice and assessment in response to queries from external partners (HA's/Df C/Do F) and NIHE colleagues.
Audit completed SHDP-funded new-build schemes to ensure compliance with approved proposals, including site visits and As-Built drawing checks.
Maintain accurate project documentation and filing in line with internal procedures.
Contribute to the development and implementation of housing design standards and best practice.
Build and maintain effective partnerships with key stakeholders to support scheme delivery.
Undertake ongoing learning and development, sharing knowledge to ensure consistency in technical assessments.
Essential Criteria:
Registered Architect or graduate in Architecture with a minimum of 2 years' relevant experience, OR
BTEC Higher Cert/Diploma (or equivalent) in Architecture/Construction with a minimum of 3 years' relevant experience, OR
Exceptionally, candidates without formal qualifications but with 5 years' relevant experience may be considered.
Demonstrable experience in housing scheme design compliance, scheme development processes, stakeholder partnership working, and technical assessment/reporting.
Access NI clearance (Basic) prior to appointment.
IT proficiency – advanced skills required.
Full current driving licence or access to transport to meet post requirements.
Desirable Criteria:
Experience working within Housing Development or Social Housing Programmes.
Knowledge of relevant funding criteria and standards.
