Health, Safety and Environmental Manager
Job Overview:
* Responsible for the development and maintenance of Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) management systems.
* Oversee the implementation of HSE policies and procedures in line with legislation and industry best practices.
This role will be responsible for driving a positive safety culture across multiple projects in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Working closely with senior leadership, you will ensure compliance with UK and Irish legislation, and lead the coordination of health and safety initiatives.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:
* Conduct regular site visits to monitor safety performance and identify areas for improvement.
* Lead risk assessments and implement preventive measures to mitigate potential hazards.
* Collaborate with HR to develop and deliver comprehensive health and safety training programs for employees and contractors.
* Inspect equipment and machinery to ensure compliance with safety standards.
* Compile detailed reports on safety performance, highlighting key trends and areas for improvement.
* Investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
* Promote a proactive, collaborative safety culture throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities and Qualifications:
* Relevant experience in a Health & Safety role within construction or related sectors.
* Hold a NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification.
* Experience auditing against ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 is desirable.
* Strong working knowledge of UK and Irish health and safety regulations.
* Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
* Level 6 qualification in Occupational Safety and Health.
* NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent.
* ISO Internal Auditor certification is an advantage.
* Experience working on M&E construction projects is beneficial.
