National Transport Operations Manager – Sysco Ireland
Location: Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland
Sysco Ireland, Ireland's largest foodservice provider, is looking for a National Transport Operations Manager to join our Dublin Distribution Centre. This role will lead a team of approximately six hundred colleagues and play a key part in the organization's growth while maintaining our core customer‑centric ethos.
Key Accountabilities
* Monitor and achieve all key performance indicators through effective management of direct reports, focusing on service, costs, compliance and engagement.
* Recruit, develop and manage direct reports to support the delivery of business KPIs.
* Take full accountability for the performance of own department(s) including achieving auditable standards.
* Collaborate with other business functions to build alignment and deliver overall business results.
* Ensure that all Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) are met.
* Contribute to and plan for the day‑to‑day operational strategy.
* Identify opportunities and implement initiatives for continuous improvements in ways of working, quality, consistency and effectiveness of process.
* Adhere to performance and absence management processes to ensure under performance of individuals and teams is managed appropriately.
* Manage all employee relations issues in line with Company Policy and legal requirements.
* Facilitate effective communication within the department, across the function and the wider business.
* Ensure all internal reports are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
* Monitor and report on external service providers within the transport function.
* Maintain housekeeping standards, safe systems of work and health & safety compliance.
* Create and promote a supportive working atmosphere.
Essential Skills and Knowledge
* Experienced leader managing large teams (>600) in fast paced FMCG, retail, multi‑channel or 3PL environments.
* Consistently high customer service, performance management, coaching and development within a safe and compliant environment.
* Natural people motivator, driving optimum productivity and continuous improvement.
* Excellent IT user with familiarity of telematics and associated technology.
* Proven working knowledge of Health & Safety and legal requirements in a distribution environment.
* Experience working within set budgetary and performance target workplace.
* Demonstrated ability to coach, lead and motivate teams to deliver results.
* Experience mobilising and managing change in people and processes.
* Clear communication at all levels, delegating appropriately.
