The VAL oversees operational aspects and acts as an expert within External Relationship Management Teams (ERMT) to maximize value from external suppliers.ResponsibilitiesManage supplier governance, oversight, and issue escalation across global clinical operations.Support implementation of outsourcing strategies.Lead business review meetings with lab partners, including KPI and KQI reviews.Serve as escalation point for unresolved supplier issues.Support risk management and leverage knowledge of services and suppliers.Lead supplier due diligence and qualification activities.Utilize technological tools for issue resolution.Support health authority inspections and CAPA management.Leadership CapabilitiesStrategic thinking, organizational knowledge, advanced planning, and project management skills.Influence without authority and team building skills.Strong vendor management and stakeholder partnering skills.RequirementsAdvanced degree in science or business with relevant experience.Fluent in English (oral and written).Minimum 5 years' experience in clinical operations and vendor management.Knowledge of GxP and ICH regulations.Expertise in clinical trial design, supplier requirements, and Novartis specifications.Proven leadership in supplier relationship management.Excellent communication and influencing skills.Why Join NovartisBe part of a community dedicated to transforming patients' lives through innovation and collaboration.
