Overview
Senior Engineer II - Manufacturing at Hollister Incorporated. Based in Ballina, County Mayo, Ireland. The engineer provides expertise and technical support in Hollister manufacturing technologies and serves Manufacturing Operations as the primary customer, liaising with Global Engineering (GE), New Product Development (NPD), Research and Development (R&D), Quality Assurance (QA) and Supply Chain (SCM).

Summary
The Senior Engineer II role involves developing and supporting manufacturing processes and equipment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal process performance and compliant design.
Responsibilities

Engineering Studies/DOE’s: Develop and execute new processes/equipment to establish process windows. Define parameters to achieve optimum process performance. Design, execute and document engineering trials.
Mechanical Design: Concept development and supervision of mechanical machine design for new production equipment or upgrading/modification of existing equipment.
Continuous Improvement: Apply DMAIC approach. Understand process capability (cpk, ppk) and control chart techniques.
Project Lead: Develop project plan, coordinate and communicate activities to ensure on-time, within-budget implementation.
QA Services: Involvement in process qualification and protocol work. Lead and execute PFMEAs.
Safety Review: Review mechanical design and installation for compliance with current safety standards and legislation.
General: Write technical reports. Familiar with fault-finding techniques.

Qualifications

Academic/Credentials/Certifications: Primary Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Masters preferred.
Experience: Ideally 5 years of project/process engineering experience.

Specialised Skills/Technical Knowledge

Understanding of PLC systems
Advanced pneumatics
2D/3D CAD skills
Project Management training
Lean Manufacturing principles (SMED and DMAIC)
Occupational Health & Safety
