Key Responsibilities of the Legal Counsel
Deliver accurate, timely, and commercially focused legal advice on a broad range of issues, with emphasis on matters relevant to Bidvest Noonan's services and operation.
Draft, review, and negotiate key customer and supplier contract
Maintain and update standard legal templates and documentation.
Ensure robust policies are in place for contract approval and execution to mitigate legal risk.
Advise on contentious commercial and employment disputes.
Collaborate with the Compliance team to identify, document, and manage legal risks across the business.
Lead the implementation of new legal processes and technologies to enhance service delivery.
Provide legal training and guidance to internal stakeholders as needed.
Respond promptly to urgent legal matters and manage workload effectively.
Advise the executive team on legal, company secretarial, and corporate governance matters to support strategic growth.
Partner with senior leaders across operations, business development, HR, and finance on both contentious and non-contentious legal issues.
Work closely with the Risk and Compliance team to implement and uphold legal standards and processes.
Key Requirements of the Legal Counsel
Qualified Solicitor with in-house experience and broad experience in corporate and commercial law
Proven expertise in: Commercial contracts, Employment law, Corporate governance / Company secretarial matters, Property law, including landlord and tenant issues.
Commercially minded, pragmatic, and solutions-focused.
Strong communication skills with the ability to present legal advice clearly and concisely.
Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
