This role will focus predominantly on accounting and reporting for Technology costs within the GFC team. This will include being involved in the management of specific operating expenses and the reporting of monthly results with analysis.What You'll DoAssist with the production of month end numbers for Technology within Group Reporting deadlinesOperate a robust cost accruals process to ensure that costs are correctly accrued within the time constraints of a fast close environmentReview all significant variances for areas of responsibility flagging key variances in advance of closeCompile mid-month outturn numbers for technology for communication to senior managementStandardise and automate where possible month end tasks to improve month end time linesComplete balance sheet reconciliations within set deadlinesProactively engage with assigned budget owners to improve processes and procedures around monthly accrualsContinuously review processes and procedures in light of changes in systems and in requirements of the businessEnsure processes and procedures are documented and robustProactively engage in cross training initiativesOther tasks that may be assigned as appropriate Continuously review processes and procedures considering changes in systems and in requirements of the businessWork collaboratively with related finance teams to achieve wider finance/organisational goals and efficienciesPursue opportunities to reduce the monthly close process duration without impacting the quality of the information produced.Ensure processes and procedures within area of responsibility are documented and robustWork with all teams within the GFC as part of accounts production / close process to ensure accurate and timely accounting information is produced in accordance with their requirementsSupport Commercial Finance in the budget and forecasting process to meet Group timelinesProactively engage with Internal and external audits when requiredDeliver timely and accurate financial information to the Group reporting teamHow You'll Do ItQualified accountant with 2+ years working in a similar environment with a proven track record in financial reporting/analysisKeen attention to detail & drive to improve qualityStrong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to challenge stakeholders & performance manage direct reportsAbility to explain financial concepts to non-financial staff in a confident and professional mannerAdept at dealing with high volumes of data and comfortable in a highly automated environmentAbility to work as part of a team in a dynamic environmentExperience of Oracle ERP or other similar financial systems an advantageExcellent MS Office skills particularly ExcelWhat's In It For YouWe are a flexible employer; whether you have personal commitments or a hobby that brings you joy, we want you to bring your best self to work and feel empowered to do so.
