Background
Darta Saving Life Assurance dac, trading as Allianz Darta Saving, is authorised in Ireland to transact life assurance business in the EU under the 2015 Regulations. The Company operates on a Freedom of Services basis, primarily distributing unit-linked products through Allianz Bank Financial Advisors SpA in Italy. The actuarial function is newly established, with the structure evolving in partnership with colleagues in Italy.
Purpose of the Role
The Senior Actuary will support the Head of Actuarial Function in overseeing reserving and reporting activities outsourced to Allianz SpA. The role involves leading oversight tasks and contributing to maintaining high-quality actuarial processes aligned with Allianz Group and Central Bank expectations. The scope of tasks includes both Solvency II and IFRS reporting, as well as a wider range of profit monitoring. The successful candidate will play a key role in building a strong and collaborative cross-border actuarial team.
Key Responsibilities
Review and challenge results for Solvency II and IFRS 17 actuarial reporting on a monthly & quarterly basis
Draft the annual Actuarial Function Report, which includes the Actuarial Report on Technical Provisions, the Opinion on Reinsurance Arrangements and the Opinion on Underwriting Policy
Review and challenge the annual assumption-setting exercise and draft the annual assumptions report
Draft the annual Actuarial Opinion on the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment
Contribute to the preparation of regulatory and Group reporting, as appropriate (including Financial Statements, SFCR, RSR and QRTs)
Co‑ordinate the Reserve Committee, including interactions with executives such as CFO, CRO and CEO
Oversee Actuarial interaction with the Product Development team, ensuring new product proposals are reviewed and have been implemented appropriately within the actuarial reporting framework and models
Ensure robust Actuarial Function governance and controls are in place, by maintaining appropriate documentation and review procedures
Build and manage effective working relationships with the outsourced Actuarial provider (Allianz SpA)
Qualifications
Qualified Actuary, with multiple years of post‑qualification experience working in life insurance or reinsurance
Detailed understanding of Solvency II and IFRS 17 reporting requirements
Ability to work collaboratively with other teams and build relationships
Strong communication skills as well as a proven track record in providing feedback and challenge
Experience in preparing reports and presentations for senior executives and Board Committees
Experience in cross‑border insurance or unit‑linked products is an advantage
Experience working in a second‑line Actuarial Function team is an advantage
