Housing Development Coordinator - Market Development Association (MDA) Charity Jobs NI is delighted to be exclusively partnering with the Market Development Association (MDA) to recruit an experienced Housing Development Coordinator. This 55-month role is supported by the National Lottery Community Fund and will drive high-impact housing support, development and innovation in the Market community. About MDA Working from the Market Community Centre, MDA supports residents to secure high-quality housing solutions, build skills, and shape the future of the area through community-led development. About the Role You'll provide comprehensive housing rights and advice, coordinate housing engagement, and lead education and skills programmes. You'll also support new housing developments, explore innovative ownership/tenure models, and lead housing-focused research and communications that increase visibility and impact. Key Responsibilities Resident support: Deliver effective housing rights/advice and coordinate community engagement. Development and innovation: Support new housing sites and types; lead on new ownership/tenure models. Learning and research: Develop housing-centred education/skills programmes; lead research and share findings. Partnerships and visibility: Build relationships with housing bodies and increase MDA's housing profile through effective communications. Qualifications & Experience Essential Qualifications/experience route: Third-level qualification in a relevant discipline and at least four years' relevant experience in each area below; or, without a third-level qualification, at least five years' relevant experience in each area. Resident support: Proven delivery of effective housing rights/advice to residents. Development delivery: Experience supporting or delivering new housing developments. Partnerships and organising: Managing cross-sector partnerships and networks with housing providers and community partners; community organising and campaigning. Funding and research: Successful funding applications and grant management with effective reporting; conducting and reporting community-based research. Aptitudes: Knowledge of working in areas of deprivation; ability to engage effectively with community, statutory agencies and housing associations; leadership and teamworking; able to use own initiative. IT and reporting: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, email/internet). Communication: Able to motivate and encourage others; experience preparing, writing and presenting reports/strategies; present information to different audiences. Flexibility: Able to work evenings/weekends and travel as required. Desirable Qualifications: Third-level qualification in Community Development or related. Local knowledge: Knowledge of the housing landscape in Belfast; understanding of the challenges and strengths of working-class communities; knowledge of funding bodies. Monitoring and evaluation: Knowledge/experience of writing evaluation and monitoring reports to funders; excellent presentation skills.
