What is the role
The Risk Function is an independent, second line of defence function that monitors, controls, and supports risk‑taking activities across AIB. The purpose of the Risk Function is to provide advice and guidance in relation to risk while providing independent oversight and reporting on AIB’s risk profile. The Risk Function’s main objective is to ensure AIB has a robust risk management framework and culture in place so that risks are taken within the risk appetite set by the Board, supporting AIB’s customer franchise and social responsibility.
Key accountabilities
Support the maturity of Non‑Financial Risk architecture within our Risk & Compliance domain.
Partner and engage with business teams to ensure solutions meet their needs and objectives.
Design and deliver secure, scalable integration solutions and lead integrations across Non‑Financial Risk platforms such as Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC).
Collaborate with Technology and Data Teams to leverage enterprise capabilities for the Risk & Compliance domain.
Bring a continuous improvement mindset to the Risk function, supporting ongoing process improvement across the team.
What you will bring
At least 7 years’ experience supporting business stakeholders enabling change with technical design solutions.
Proven experience in solution design and technical architecture, demonstrating an outcome‑based approach.
Experience in application design and system and technology integration, with a proven record of designing solutions to business problems while demonstrating creativity, innovation and best‑practice design techniques.
Relevant third‑level qualification in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, able to work with both technical and non‑technical teams.
Architecture certification (such as TOGAF or Zachman) or equivalent experience in designing technology solutions.
Experience supporting risk and compliance activities, with an understanding of relevant regulations (such as DORA, GDPR, ISO 27001 or AML) is desirable.
