At Apleona, We are always on the lookout for talented and dynamic Individuals to join our team at our Religious Site in Tullamore, Co Offaly
Shift Patern Monday - Friday 37.5 hours per week
Main duties and responsibilities
To maintain a high standard of care. and to create a homely atmosphere while maintaining a safe environment for Sisters.
Ensure all health and safety regulations are complied with.and ensure adult safeguarding protocols are in place.
Maintain a high standard of communication, professional and ethical responsibility.
Provide person-centred care, promoting optimum independence and enhancing the quality of life of Sisters by: assessing care needs of each sister and develop a care plan
Ensuring the sisters needs are met as fully as possible, with the utmost respect and dignity.and ensuring the sisters are consulted on and participate in all aspects of their care.
Ensuring protocols are in place for the administration and storage of medication for individual sisters.
Ensuring all complaints and incidents are recorded and reported to the relevant point of contact (Local Superior & Apleona)
Respect the dignity and confidentiality of the sisters. Serve as an advocate where necessary and liaise re same with the local superior. .
Co-ordinate and arrange Sisters' medical appointments and transport for same.
Maintain appropriate and accurate written records and reports regarding Sister's care in accordance with local/national/ professional guidelines.
Ensure clarity of information/developments at handover to local superior or a named person at end of each shift.
Conduct audits and reviews and discuss new initiatives with the local superior.
Manage the rostering of all staff within their remit and manage payroll/timesheets for relevant staff (Care & Household)
Delegate to and supervise the work of other grades of staff within the remit of their role as appropriate.
Coordinate staff training and records of them with the local superior./ Public Health Nurses, GP's, Pharmacist etc
Know and practice according to established legal requirements, policies and procedures.
Deal with emergency situations in an efficient and professional manner.
With the local Superior arrange orders, procurement or any other aspects required for the sisters.
Qualifications and experience
Experience in working with elderly
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Proven experience working in facilities or healthcare
People management experience Full driving licence
