Role Summary
Dawn Meats is recruiting a Logistics Apprentice to join the teams at our Kilbeggan Co. Westmeath production facility. This is an excellent opportunity to develop a career progressing to a management position in supply chain, operations, logistics, warehouse, process engineering or planning. The apprenticeship provides a third-level qualification, on‑the‑job training, and the chance to earn while you learn. Dawn Meats will pay your salary during training and offer incremental salary increases aligned with achieving agreed milestones within the programme.
Responsibilities
Develop productive working relationships with stakeholders and departments such as Commercial, Operations, Supply Chain, Dispatch, Stores, Planning and Accounts to ensure product output and delivery meet customer specifications.
Assist with daily planning of food production, customer supply and movement of goods throughout Ireland, the UK and Europe.
Liaise with all areas of management across our sites and the Group to foster strong working relationships.
Gain a full understanding of all relevant roles and processes with Operations and Production through experiential on‑the‑job learning.
Assist management when necessary and take on management responsibilities, providing support and acting as a point of contact where appropriate.
Work with site management to reduce costs and increase efficiency.

Candidate Requirements
Minimum experience required: 0 years.
Minimum qualification: Level 5 (e.g., Leaving Certificate, Leaving Certificate Applied or Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme).
Essential Qualifications (LAA programme entry criteria)
H7/O6 or above in five Leaving Certificate subjects (or equivalent).
Minimum grade O6 in English.
Minimum grade O6 or B2 or above in Foundation level mathematics.
Holding a QQI Level 5 or Level 6 (or equivalent) in a cognate area such as business, logistics and distribution, supply chain management, etc.
Applicants may also be eligible to become apprentices via Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
