Overview
AllPro Recruitment is currently recruiting
Care Assistants
on behalf of our client for Community and Residential Intellectual Disability (ID) Services.
As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals to live fulfilling lives while promoting independence, dignity, and person-centred care.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will vary depending on the service setting and may include:
Delivering assigned and delegated care tasks under the supervision of the Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) or Nurse in Charge (NIC).
Supporting service users with personal care, hygiene, nutrition, mobility, and physical and mental wellbeing.
Assisting in the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care in line with the service's philosophy of care.
Supporting the CNM/NIC with the day-to-day management of the ward, unit, or residential environment.
Encouraging social inclusion, community participation, and engagement in meaningful activities.
Treating all service users with dignity, respect, courtesy, and professionalism at all times.
Acting as an advocate for service users, residents, and their families.
Contributing to multidisciplinary assessments and care plans, and supporting their implementation and review.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation where required.
Attending team meetings and contributing positively to service delivery.
Ensuring all information is handled confidentially and in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
Assisting with meal preparation and supporting service users with mealtimes as required.
Managing laundry and linen in accordance with local policies and guidelines.
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and infection prevention throughout the service.
Ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents and service users.
Accompanying residents to therapies, appointments, and community activities, providing feedback to nursing staff as appropriate.
Requirements
Applicants must possess one of the following:
QQI/FETAC Level 5 in Healthcare Support
, including:
Intellectual Disability Studies Module
Activities of Daily Living Module
OR
QQI/FETAC Level 5 in Health Service Skills
, including:
Intellectual Disability Studies Module
Activities of Daily Living Module
OR
A relevant healthcare qualification deemed equivalent to the above.
