We're looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Cafe Manager to join our vibrant team at TJ O' Mahony in Prosperous.
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a busy, fast-paced cafe that serves a variety of hot meals, sandwiches, snacks and beverages, all while delivering top-tier customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership Management Lead, motivate, and manage a team of cafe staff.
Organise staff rosters, ensuring the cafe is properly staffed during peak hours.
Conduct training and development for new and existing staff to maintain high standards of service and food quality.
Foster a positive and inclusive team environment that encourages collaboration and customer focus.
2. Cafe Operations Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth service delivery during busy periods.
Ensure all food and beverage items are prepared to the highest standards, following health and safety guidelines.
Maintain stock levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as needed.
Monitor food quality, portion control, and consistency to ensure customer satisfaction.
Handle the cafe's opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and stock movements.
3. Customer Service Excellence Be the face of the cafe, delivering exceptional service to every customer.
Resolve any customer complaints or issues in a professional and timely manner.
Encourage customer feedback to improve service and enhance the cafe's reputation.
4. Financial Management Oversee cash handling, including daily cash-ups and till reconciliations.
Monitor and manage the cafe's budget, ensuring cost control without compromising on quality.
Analyse sales data and adjust strategies to meet revenue and profitability targets.
5. Health Safety Compliance Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including food hygiene standards and workplace safety.
Regularly conduct health and safety audits to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for both staff and customers.
Ensure staff are fully trained in health and safety procedures.
6. Marketing Promotions Collaborate on creating and executing promotional campaigns, special events, and seasonal menu items.
Maintain the cafe's social media presence and community engagement efforts to attract new customers and retain loyal ones.
Essential Skills Qualifications: Proven experience in cafe management or similar hospitality management role, with a strong understanding of running a busy cafe.
Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop staff.
Exceptional customer service skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
Experience with financial management, including budgeting and cost control.
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
Ability to work under pressure, especially during peak times.
Desirable Skills: Barista or culinary experience is a plus.
Experience with POS systems and inventory management software.
Knowledge of local food trends and customer preferences.
