Accountant
To maintain accurate financial records, preparing and filing taxes, ensuring compliance with regulations; providing strategic financial advice and auditing, analysing financial data to identify trends and make future predictions; and identifying opportunities for increased profitability and recommending measures to reduce costs.
Key Responsibilities
Preparing Monthly Management Accounts for a number of branches.
Prepare detailed quarterly accounts to deadlines.
Analysing and reporting on any variances in the branch accounts.
Preparation and distribution of KPIs to the leadership team.
Maintain and report on the group's fixed asset register.
Running monthly/weekly payroll.
Ensuring compliance with Revenue.
Assisting with tax matters including VAT and corporation tax.
Managing the annual external audit.
Assisting with budgeting and forecasting.
Manage and report monthly on key balance sheet items.
Assisting with group reporting.
Thorough and practical understanding of management accounting principles and techniques.
Understanding of business and financial issues.
Proactive, ability to use own initiative and willingness to accept responsibility.
Capable of working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Ability to multi-task and manage a varied workload.
Ability to be flexible, with an understanding that requirements can change.
Analytical skills.
Proficiency with financial software.
Advanced MS Excel and Word skills.
Strong communication and collaborative skills.
Proactive in seeking guidance when planning or prioritising complex or conflicting tasks.
Ability to work with all levels of staff within the organisation.
Ability to work effectively and sensitively as part of the team to achieve success.
Qualifications & Experience
BSc in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree.
Previous experience working in a similar role.
Recognised professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA.
