The Role.
GMC Utilities Group is currently seeking an experienced
Estimator
to join our expanding team in
Tuam, Co. Galway
. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with strong commercial acumen to support the delivery of critical infrastructure projects across Ireland.
As an Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions, working closely with project managers, engineers, and the wider commercial team. This role offers excellent potential for career development within a dynamic and growing organisation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation of cost estimates and tender submissions for civil and utilities contracts.
Conducting site visits and liaising with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather project information.
Reviewing tender documentation and preparing take-offs from drawings and specifications.
Assisting in value engineering and cost analysis during pre-construction.
Supporting the negotiation of contract terms and pricing.
Maintaining tender files and documentation in accordance with company procedures.
Working collaboratively with other departments to ensure commercial accuracy.
The Candidate: Required Experience and Competencies:
A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar Estimator role, ideally within civil engineering or utilities.
A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
Strong analytical and numerical skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
