With pilots, LOIs, and product-market fit established, we are primed for rapid scale and seek a hands-on CTO to lead technology and early sales initiatives.
Your Role & Responsibilities As CTO, you will be a co-founder-level leader, driving both technology strategy and early commercial traction: Technology Leadership Architect & Execute: Define and build the Vari Control roadmap, from MVP to v2.0 and beyond (cloud microservices, AI/ML pipeline, edge compute).
AI & Data Science Oversight: Guide model development (Tensor Flow/Py Torch), Data Ops, and ML Ops best practices.
Edge & Io T Integration: Design robust gateways (Node-RED, OPC-UA, MQTT) to ensure 24/7 data flow—even offline.
R&D on Biopolymers: Oversee lab-to-pilot scale-up of proprietary blends; validate material performance and biodegradability.
IP & Security: Manage patent filings, code security, and compliance frameworks.
Commercial & Sales Enablement Early Sales Drive: Partner with CEO to pitch pilot contracts to plastics manufacturers and healthcare providers until a dedicated sales team is onboarded.
Technical Pre-Sales Support: Lead proof-of-concept demos, pilot integrations, and ROI analyses for prospective customers.
Customer Success Framework: Implement onboarding processes, performance dashboards, and feedback loops to ensure high satisfaction and retention.
Channel & Partnership Development: Identify and integrate with OEMs (machine builders) and system integrators to embed Vari Control as a value-added solution.
Team Building & Culture Recruit & Mentor: Hire and develop a cross-functional team of software engineers, data scientists, hardware integrators, and materials scientists.
Process & Delivery: Establish agile workflows, Dev Ops pipelines, and quality assurance standards.
Collaborative Culture: Cultivate an innovative, mission-driven environment that values speed, sustainability, and excellence.

Must be willing to attend conferences, expos, customer sites for set up, troubleshooting, training etc.

Ideal Candidate Profile Technical Expertise: 7+ years in deep-tech leadership (CTO/VP Eng.), with strong backgrounds in: Industrial Io T & edge computing AI/ML model development and deployment Cloud architecture (AWS/Azure/GCP) and microservices Saa S (B2 B)Hands-On Mindset: Comfortable coding, iterating, deploying, and troubleshooting in early-stage startups.
Materials Science Acumen: Experience or strong interest in polymer chemistry, bioplastics, or advanced materials.
Sales & Customer Focus: Proven ability to drive technical sales cycles, conduct demos, and close pilot agreements.
Leadership & Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills; able to bridge engineering and business teams effectively.
