Our client is a growing accountancy firm looking for a practice trained accountant to join their team. You may be a part-Qualified or newly qualified accountant (or potentially accounting technician looking to go on and complete ACCA / ACA exams). You will have at least 2 years hands-on experience in a small to medium sized Irish firm. This role is based to the East of Galway City and offers free parking on site. The role may suit somebody working in Galway City but living in North/East or South Galway and looking for a reduced commute. Alternatively it may suit somebody from Galway, working elsewhere i.e. Athlone, Dublin, Limerick etc who is keen to move home. The role Preparing and reviewing financial accounts for companies and sole traders Advisory services and solutions tailored to meet their financial needs. Preparation & submission of VAT, income tax, RCT, PAYE & corporation tax returns Maintenance of client records via packages such as Quickbooks, Xero, Sage etc. Preparation of monthly and weekly payrolls The Person: ACA, ACCA or CPA qualified or part-qualified with a minimum of two year's practical experience in a small - medium Irish accountancy firm. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Bright Accounts Production, Xero, Quickbooks, Collsoft or similar payroll software) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach Proficient in Microsoft office, intermediate to advanced excel skills essential Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail Ability to work independently or as part of a small team Skills: Financial Analysis Financial Accounting Bookkeeping Income Tax Taxation Vat Returns
