Urgent Opportunity for a Senior IT Engineer Tipperary, Kilkenny, Waterford I am working with a leading Irish MSP in their search for a Senior IT Engineer to join their growing technical support team.
Key Responsibilities:Maintain and optimize critical infrastructure: firewalls, switches, servers (on-prem and cloud), storage, PBX, MDM, backup solutions, and virtualization (Hyper-V, VMware).Conduct detailed security reviews across network and server environments, implement MFA, VPN security, patching, and compliance.Manage site documentation, update knowledge bases, passwords, and support site maintenance.Collaborate with clients and internal teams to recommend and implement system improvements.
Skills & Experience:Strong hands-on experience with servers, firewalls, cloud solutions, endpoint security, and backup systems.Operational knowledge of modern workplace tools (M365, Intune, Azure).Proven ability to work both independently and within a team, with excellent client-facing skills.
Preferred Certifications:FortiGate NSE 4 / FCP, Cisco CCNA, Microsoft Azure & Intune expertise.Windows Server/Active Directory proficiency, virtualization (Hyper-V, VMware).Backup solutions experience (Datto or equivalent).
