Job Title: Financial Accountant
A highly skilled and experienced Financial Accountant is required to join our business on a 12-month maternity cover contract.
This role will be a key contributor to the finance function, responsible for managing the weekly payroll process and playing a pivotal role in the month-end close.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage the preparation of the weekly payroll file for submission to a third-party payroll provider.
2. Accurately calculate monthly project costs (materials and labour) in collaboration with Quantity Surveying and Production Admin teams.
3. Participate in stock takes and complete stock reconciliation exercises.
4. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
5. Produce billing documents in cooperation with the Commercial team to ensure accurate invoicing.
6. Perform debt collection activities and follow up on overdue customer payments.
7. Liaise with credit insurers to set up new customers with credit insurance.
8. Act as a key contact for auditors and other third parties for quarterly Invoice Discounting audits.
9. Support other ad hoc finance-related tasks as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Minimum of three years industry experience, ideally in manufacturing, or experience in an accounting practice.
- Experience with Finance ERP systems.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
- An inquisitive mindset and willingness to learn.
