As part of their continued investment in communications excellence, our client is seeking a skilled and strategic Corporate Communications Manager to join their communications team. Reporting to the Head of Communications – Retail, this is a high-impact role focused on enhancing and protecting the company’s reputation, inspiring confidence in its strategy and brands, and driving engagement across media and digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Corporate Communications Strategy:
* Develop and implement external corporate communications plans across key strategic areas, including sustainability, economic impact, and community engagement.
* Build awareness of the company’s leadership position in the food and retail sector, ensuring clear alignment between corporate and brand-level messaging.
* Proactively identify opportunities to highlight the company’s scale, innovation, and people-led culture through impactful campaigns (e.g., Food Academy, Tidy Towns, store openings).
* Manage issue response planning and support cross-functional teams in developing aligned, effective communications during sensitive or high-impact moments.
* Promote the company’s presence in key industry, business, and community awards.
Media Relations:
* Maintain and develop strong relationships with key national, local, and international media contacts.
* Act as a point of contact for day-to-day media queries and briefing requests.
* Support retailers with planned media profiles and ensure protocols are adhered to.
* Monitor media coverage and ensure timely and effective follow-up where required.
Digital & Social Media Strategy:
* Lead the development and execution of the company’s corporate social media strategy.
* Manage interactions across social platforms, representing the company’s voice with consistency, clarity, and professionalism.
* Analyse engagement data, identify trends, and make strategic recommendations to grow the company’s digital presence.
* Continuously seek opportunities to digitalise communications and enhance stakeholder reach and impact.
Agency & Stakeholder Collaboration:
* Manage the day-to-day relationship with the company’s corporate communications agency.
* Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and senior leadership to ensure consistent messaging and timely delivery of communications initiatives.
Skills & Experience Required:
* 5+ years of experience in a communications, PR, or corporate affairs role.
* Proven ability to manage and grow corporate social media platforms.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a flair for impactful storytelling.
* Strong influencing and stakeholder engagement abilities.
* A successful track record in managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong organisational and presentation skills.
* A team player who thrives on collaboration and delivering results.
* A third-level qualification in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related discipline.
