Description
The CNS post holder will deliver care in line with the five core concepts of the role set out in the Framework for the Establishment of Clinical Nurse Specialist Posts, 4th edition, National Council for the Professional Development of Nursing and Midwifery (NCNM) 2008.
A Clinical Nurse Specialist in (Palliative Care) is required to act as a specialist palliative resource for all primary care teams, community hospitals, nursing homes and other community settings. He/she is responsible for his/her own caseload by providing specialist knowledge and expertise in caring for patients with a progressive illness. He/she holds accountability for making complex decisions in the area of pain and symptom management.
