Crèche Manager & ECCE Room Leader – Maternity Cover up to 1 yearWe are seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and motivated Crèche Manager & ECCE Room Leader to cover maternity leave in our small early years service. The role combines day-to-day management and governance responsibilities with direct leadership of an ECCE-funded room, ensuring high-quality early learning and care in line with national regulations and quality frameworks.General Information:Contracted role, 32.5 hours a week, Pay in line with ERO.Must currently live in Ireland. No sponsorship or visa available with this role.Job start is March 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
Management & Governance:Act as Person in Charge, overseeing daily operations.Ensure compliance with Child Care Act 1991 (Early Years Services) Regulations 2016 and Tusla requirements.Maintain policies, procedures, risk assessments and records.Prepare for and manage Tusla inspections.Oversee ECCE, NCS and AIM programmes.Manage staff rosters and ensure ratios are maintained.Lead staff meetings and professional development.Ensure compliance with Children First, Health & Safety and GDPR.
ECCE Room Leadership:Act as named ECCE Room Leader.Plan and implement a play-based curriculum in line with Aistear and Síolta.Observe, document and support children's learning.Promote inclusion and support children with additional needs.Use basic Irish (Gaeilge) in daily routines, songs and activities.
Staff Leadership:Support and mentor staff.Promote reflective practice and quality pedagogy.
Parent & Community Engagement:Build positive relationships with parents.Communicate regarding children's progress and well-being.
Administration:Maintain enrolment, attendance and incident records.Complete ECCE and NCS documentation accurately and on time.
Qualifications and Experience:Minimum QQI Level 6 in Early Childhood Care and Education (mandatory ECCE requirement).Minimum 2 years' experience in an early year setting.Supervisory or management experience desirable of at least 1 year.Knowledge of Tusla regulations, ECCE requirements, Aistear & Síolta.Ability to use basic Irish (Gaeilge) or a willingness to learn.Garda Vetting, Children First and Paediatric First Aid (Required).
