Mechanical Lead – Cork
Opportunity for a Mechanical Lead to join the Life Science team in Cork.
Reporting to the Regional Director/Regional MEP Lead, the MEP Lead is responsible for the delivery of MEP systems across large and multiple smaller projects, ensuring they are on time, on budget, and meet the company's safety, quality, and energy objectives.
It is equally important to guide, lead, and motivate teams in applying MEP management systems to deliver fully integrated, commissioned systems that meet design and statutory requirements, leading to seamless handover and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
* Support the tendering and awarding of MEP packages according to project pre-construction and procurement strategies.
* Ensure temporary electrical requirements, including load and energy assessments, align with management system guidelines.
* Take responsibility for MEP integration and project delivery within the overall project team.
* Manage MEP elements in accordance with Building Services Management Procedures and specific Project Execution Plans (PEP).
* Align and integrate final building services installation and commissioning programs with the main construction schedule.
* Engage with utility companies early to understand and adhere to infrastructural and interface requirements.
* Coordinate and approve MEP contractor drawings for construction to meet program requirements.
Experience:
* Over 6 years of experience managing large-scale, complex MEP projects.
* Understanding of the MEP supply chain market and dynamics.
* Operational involvement in all project phases: estimating, pre-construction, installation, commissioning, demonstration, and handover.
* Technical, interpersonal, and commercial skills to deliver MEP projects effectively.
* Experience with handover plans, live energies/ArcFlash training, and BIM fundamentals.
Qualifications:
* Degree in Building Services, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
* Membership in professional institutions such as CIBSE, CIOB, IEI, or equivalent.
* Health & Safety management training (IO or equivalent).
* Skills in planning and programming.
