specialist Investment & Borrowing Oversight team
, hiring at
Supervisor through to Vice President level
.
This role is
highly technical
and suited to professionals with
deep, hands-on experience in investment and borrowing restrictions
within a Depositary or Trustee environment. The client is specifically seeking individuals who can confidently assess complex exposures, identify breaches, and apply regulatory judgement - not simply process outputs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversight of
investment and borrowing restrictions
across UCITS and/or AIF structures.
* Assessment of
counterparty exposure, issuer exposure, concentration limits, and leverage
.
* Identification, investigation and escalation of
advertent and inadvertent breaches
, including root-cause analysis and remediation.
Review and challenge of delegate outputs relating to:
* Investment compliance monitoring
* Borrowing and leverage limits
* Counterparty and connected party exposure
* Interpretation of complex portfolio structures and derivatives exposure.
* Active engagement with investment managers, administrators and internal stakeholders.
* Contribution to the enhancement of controls, oversight frameworks and operating models.
* (At senior levels) Team oversight, technical mentoring and escalation ownership.
Required Experience & Skills:
* Proven Depositary or Trustee experience
with a strong focus on
investment and borrowing oversight
.
Excellent understanding of:
* UCITS investment and borrowing rules
* Counterparty and issuer exposure
* Leverage, derivatives and complex instruments
* Experience dealing with
breach analysis, escalation frameworks and regulatory interpretation
.
* Strong technical judgement — able to challenge assumptions and outputs confidently.
* Familiarity with investment compliance and monitoring systems such as:
* Charles River
* MIG
(or equivalent compliance platforms)
* Strong written and verbal communication skills for issue escalation and documentation.
