Key Responsibilities Include:

The role of the Finishing Foreman is to ensure delivery of high quality finishes on all

project elements, efficient management of a building site, to provide a safe working

environment, and adhere to workplace Health and Safety requirements, while

maximising productivity. Delivery of high quality projects, snag free on time and on

budget.

Responsibilities

* Responsible to the Contracts Manager to perform all duties as agreed
* Delivery of high quality of finishes on all elements
* Implement quality plan
* Front-line management of all industrial relations matters
* Ensuring compliance and completion of all company procedures and all

contractual commitments are achieved

* Workplace Health and Safety Management and implementation (Safety Manuals).

Pre-Construction

* Check documents are current and obtain drawings, specifications, drawings

register and council approved drawings.

* Obtain site files and check for compliance
* Review quality plan
* Review inspection test plan (ITP)
* Review list of required mockups, sample panels and first of kinds
* Obtain daily site report, Requests for Information (RFI's)' External Hire

Charge book, Transmittal book and Non-Conformance book.

* Check and peruse Council connections for water, sewer and storm water.
* Contact Authorities for connections of all temporary services, e.g. electricity,

telephone, foul storm etc.

* Check documents for existing services e.g. gas, telephone, and power and

ensure to contact the relevant authority for the location of any services.

* Establish and review the construction program to include quality plan

requirements

First Of Kinds

* Review the documentsfor any necessary testing and inspectionsrequired i.e.

frequency of concrete testing, bearing capacity for foundation material etc.

* Review the set-out of the project and ascertain with the

supervisor the set-out and dimensional accuracy requirements for

the project.

* Assist the Project QS, Contracts manager, Site Manager Junior Contract

Manager with letter of contracts for early trades and any difficult subcontract.

* Assist the EHS Officer in the preparation and application of the Workplace

Safety Plan and Environmental Plan.

During Construction

Quality Control

* Implement Quality Plan
* Ensure all materials used meet the specifications
* Ensure quality requirements are communicated to all subcontractors
* Ensure subcontractors adhere to specifications and quality standards at all

times

* Ensure all mock ups, sample panels and first of kinds are as per specification

and required quality standard and meet the ITP programme

* Ensure approval by design team of mock ups, sample panels and first of

kinds

* Management of subcontractors to ensure high quality finishes are delivered

on a daily basis

* Prepare check sheets and complete as per inspection test plan in accordance

with programme

* Prepare snag lists for all elements of the works and issue to subcontractors
* Ensure snag lists are completed on time
* Manage handover of sections of the works snag free in accordance with

programme

* Ensure subcontractors carry out the works in a safe manner at all times

Site Management

* Control of all operations in the field including the allocation and

management of all employees, materials, plant and equipment

* Ensure that safety is an integral part of all construction planning and execution

process

* Oversee all matters related to Workplace Health Safety
* Communicate daily with all personnel and sub-contractor's representatives as

required in relation to quality

* Co-ordinate surveyors and trades for set-out of the works and check all

dimensions prior to construction.

* Ensure dimensional accuracy of all elements of the works
* Ensure correct material and equipment are being used and installed in

accordance with the specification and design.

* Arrange all necessary testing and inspection during construction and maintain a

copy of all test results in the site files.

* Review the quality ITP program and produce a detailed fortnightly program

in accordance with the master program requirements (to be available 1700

pm each Monday)

* Co-ordinate all trades and give enough notice when they will be required and

with what resources to meet the required timeframes.

* Ensure each sub-contractor has a current ITP program.
* Administration and management of subcontractor work method statements
* Undertake all necessary inspections to achieve high quality work during

construction in accordance with any Inspection and Test Plants (ITP's)

* Complete daily ITP check sheets report.
* Attend construction, safety and staff meetings asrequired
* Comply with all instructions issued by the Contracts Manager.
* Prepare and issue detailed snag lists to all subcontractors in sufficient time prior to

PC to ensure minor snagging post PC

* Ensure subcontractors complete snag lists prior to PC

PC Completion

* Manage BCAR inspections of the works in accordance with inspection plan

without delaying the programme and PC

* Assist Contracts Manager and Project Manager to prepare BCAR file in time

for PC and handover

* Delivery of projects snag free

Completion

* Return to the office all site files and diaries
* Ensure completion of any defect items requested by the customer.
* Issue at hand over keys and warranties and record on a transmittal form to

the Contract Administrator

* Attend post-construction meeting.
* Assist the Contracts Manager Junior Contracts manager with the preparation

of the OM files at handover stage
