Job Overview:
The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing the day-to-day operations and maintenance of data centre facilities. This involves overseeing the technical team, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of all critical systems, and driving operational excellence.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Team Management: Develop and manage the technical team operating across the site, including mentoring and growing their skills and knowledge to ensure consistent engineering best practice.
2. Talent Management: Oversee the talent management process for all staff within the technical team, ensuring they receive appropriate training plans, performance reviews, and succession planning.
3. Technical Strategy: Define the roadmap and long-term strategy for the technical team, including technical direction and standards.
4. Critical System Management: Ownership of all technical operational standards, escalations, CE training, and CE compliance across the site.
5. Procedure Development: Oversee the development and implementation of all procedures, CE documentation, and operating policies, ensuring they are effectively communicated and adhered to by all staff.
6. Partnerships: Partner with various teams, including Business Ops, Planning, CE Day & shift Operations, QHSE, and Project teams, to plan and execute against business, strategic, and operational needs.
7. RCA Process: Own the full RCA process, delivering the final report to leadership.
8. Culture of Continuous Improvement: Create and maintain a culture of continuous improvement throughout the team, identifying and implementing design improvements with the Client's Operations Manager and DPI Technical Director.
9. Training: Review, provide input, and oversee all technical training requirements rolled out by the wider group, including Authorising person & Senior AP certification.
10. Performance Monitoring: Drive and deliver performance that meets and exceeds Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
11. Breach Reporting: Monitor and track the performance level of the technical team against KPIs and SLAs, providing a full breakdown of any breaches to the Business Manager.
12. Main Point of Contact: Be the main point of contact during significant events or multi-disciplinary technical escalations occurring on site 24/7.
13. Data Centre Operations: Ensure Data Centre operations, business policies, and processes are effectively communicated, implemented, and adhered to by all staff.
14. Safety Procedures: Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to by vendors and staff working within the site.
15. Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment: Ensure both client and DPI's Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment policies and processes are effectively implemented across both DPI and subcontractor activities and are regularly reviewed.
16. Statutory Compliance: Ensure appropriate control systems are in place to ensure statutory, policy, and contractual commitments are met.
17. CE Data: Provide CE data required for reports and meetings for the Data Centre.
18. Operational Performance: Regularly monitor and assess CE Operational performance, highlighting areas of under-performance, driving innovation and efficiency, recognising and promoting excellent performance across the DPI team.
19. Additional Tasks: Manage other tasks as required to meet business needs and provide technical support to the wider group as and when required.
20. Confidentiality: Maintain business and client confidentiality, adhering to applicable Data Protection regulations and Information Security Standards in line with company and group policies and procedures.
21. Representation: Represent the business, promoting and maintaining our core values and behaviours with all internal and external customers, clients, and third parties.
