Excel Recruitment are looking for a Person in Charge who is wise and resilient with excellent people and management skills to manage a brand new home in Cavan.
About the Role:
As Person in Charge, you will ensure that the children and young people we support are cared for to the highest standards.
You will lead the day-to-day operations and strategic direction of this new residential home, ensuring children and young people receive the highest quality of care, safety, and support.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Responsible for setting high standards of support working with young people affected by complex trauma
2. Responsible for Safeguarding, Strong motivational leadership and staff management. The post holder will demonstrate integrity and a strong philosophy of care.
3. The post includes the necessity for setting targets, objectives and professional development of staff who support the young people promoting the highest standard of service delivery possible.
4. To lead, manage and support the Social Care team to deliver a high-quality service that promotes young people's safety, well-being and development.
5. To contribute to the development of the service and to implement plans.
6. To ensure effective day to day running of the home
7. To ensure that all standards in relation to the children/young person are upheld within the statutory framework and providers standards.
8. This post requires you to ensure that the Children's home reflects a culture that is inclusive, warm and nurturing where young people's wellbeing and development is promoted.
9. Promote a warm, nurturing and inclusive environment.
10. Collaborate closely with the Regional Director, multidisciplinary teams, and external stakeholders.
11. Ensure every child's care plan is tailored, implemented, and reviewed to reflect their evolving needs.
12. Lead on referrals, admissions, and transitions to and from care.
13. Promote a culture of continuous improvement, compliance, and kindness.
Your Team:
14. Deputy Manager to support operational management
15. Two Team Leaders to guide frontline staff
16. Access to MDT and therapeutic supports
17. Backed by a positive, experienced senior leadership team
Essential Criteria:
18. QQI Level 7/8 in Social Care (or equivalent qualification)
19. Minimum 3-4 years post-qualification experience in children's residential care (depending on qualification level)
20. Enrolled in (or have completed) a suitable management qualification
21. Alternatively, CORU-registered Social Care Worker with appropriate experience may be considered
22. Full clean driver's licence (held for more than one year)
23. Strong leadership, communication and report-writing skills
24. Passion for delivering excellent, trauma-informed care
