A Kitchen Porter plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of a commercial kitchen by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with basic food preparation, and supporting the kitchen team.
This role is essential in keeping the kitchen organized, hygienic, and running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
Cleaning food preparation areas, fridges, ovens, floors, and surfaces.
Emptying bins, managing waste disposal, outside backyard
Assisting chefs with basic food preparation (e.g., peeling vegetables, preparing ingredients)
Receiving and storing deliveries correctly
Ensuring health and safety regulations are followed
Keeping stock of cleaning supplies and notifying management of shortages
Supporting kitchen staff with any additional tasks as needed
