A Kitchen Porter plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of a commercial kitchen by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with basic food preparation, and supporting the kitchen team. This role is essential in keeping the kitchen organized, hygienic, and running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
* Washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
* Cleaning food preparation areas, fridges, ovens, floors, and surfaces.
* Emptying bins, managing waste disposal, outside backyard
* Assisting chefs with basic food preparation (e.g., peeling vegetables, preparing ingredients)
* Receiving and storing deliveries correctly
* Ensuring health and safety regulations are followed
* Keeping stock of cleaning supplies and notifying management of shortages
* Supporting kitchen staff with any additional tasks as needed
