Director of Nursing Role Overview
You will undertake the responsibilities of the Director of Nursing in accordance with the Health Act 2007, related regulations and standards published by the Health Information and Quality Authority.
Key Requirements
* A minimum of three years' experience as a DON/ADON within the last six years is essential for this role.
* A post-registration qualification in healthcare management or equivalent is also required.
* The successful candidate must have five years of relevant post-registration nursing experience and at least three years' experience (within the last six years) caring for older individuals.
* Registration as a nurse on, or eligibility to be registered on, the live register maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) is mandatory.
* Effective communication skills are necessary to interact with residents, relatives, visitors, employees, management, and external bodies, including GPs, hospitals, HSE, and HIQA.
* Computer literacy and excellent communication, organisational, leadership, and time management skills are essential.
