To work as part of a dedicated and innovative team in a community-based house providing respite and holiday breaks for children with physical disabilities, within a quality framework.
Responsibilities
The job description indicates a full list of duties is available in the Job Description and Person Specification. The successful candidate will be expected to work within the team to deliver care and support in a community setting.
Essential Criteria
* Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc.
* Eligible applicants will be those who, on the closing date for the competition:
* Hold professional registration, or be eligible for registration, on the Social Care Workers Register maintained by the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU. See list of recognised Social Care qualifications at: CORU Approved Qualifications
* OR Have a Schedule 3 qualification. See list of recognised Schedule 3 qualifications at: Schedule 3 Qualifications
* OR Have a comparable qualification recognised by the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU.
* OR Applicants who satisfy the conditions set out in Section 91 of the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005 must submit proof of application for registration with the Social Care Workers Registration Board at CORU. The acceptable proof is correspondence confirming their application was received by 30 November 2025.
* Provide proof of statutory registration on the Social Care Workers Register before a contract of employment can be issued.
* Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability, for the proper discharge of the role.
* Annual Registration: On appointment, practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Social Care Workers Register maintained by CORU.
* Experience in contributing to the development of personal plans.
* Experience and knowledge of the role of a key worker.
* Experience of delivering personal care.
* Experience of assisting children with medical needs/ administering medication.
* Experience of engaging in professional supervision.
* Possess a full, clean driving licence.
* Eligible to work in the State.
Desirable Criteria
* Experience of working with children and families with physical/sensory/intellectual disabilities.
* Minimum of 1 year post qualification experience relevant to the role.
