PE Global are recruiting for a Financial Accountant on behalf of our Energy client in Dublin. The role is based on an initial 12-month contract with a hybrid working option.
Role Profile:
We have an exciting opportunity in the Core Finance Team within the Corporate Services Department. The Finance Department manages the Authority's financial functions, including Core Finance, Finance Operations, and Analytics. The team supports reporting (management, Board, and Audit Committee), internal and external audits, budget management, accounts payable and receivable, and financial analysis.
The Core Finance team oversees payments, ensuring they are made appropriately and in accordance with governance and internal controls. They also handle the annual budgeting process, monthly internal reporting, forecasting, and year-end statutory accounts. The Financial Accountant will work closely with the finance team and report to the Financial Controller or their nominee.

Responsibilities:
The responsibilities outlined are indicative and may evolve with departmental needs:
1. Review and maintain user access to the core finance system, updating access control documentation.
2. Manage key accounts, analyze costs, and ensure value for money.
3. Manage the core Debtors ledger, including posting invoices, reconciliation, tax compliance, and credit control.
4. Analyze supplier accounts and cost centers to inform management decisions.
5. Review and approve employee expenses, including Revenue EER returns.
6. Coordinate and submit periodic regulatory reports.
7. Assist with annual VAT reports (819B).
8. Improve internal workflows and processes across corporate services and the wider organization.
9. Prepare ad hoc financial reports for stakeholders.
10. Support the Financial Controller in daily finance department operations.
Candidate Requirements:
The successful candidate must demonstrate:
* Full qualification as an accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA) with Min Level 7 NFQ.
* Experience in a core finance role within a relevant industry, including:
* Financial analysis supporting decision-making.
* Experience with financial controls.
* Processing sales invoices and managing debtors.
* Managing finance systems and modules.
* Building and maintaining internal control systems.
* Knowledge/Experience of working in the Public Sector.
* Knowledge/Experience of Sustainable Energy.
