We are recruiting a Project HSE Advisor to join our civil project in Cork.
The role of the Project HSE Advisor is to guide, support, and advise Project Managers and other relevant personnel on the setup, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of HSE systems and standards on site, in accordance with BAM Safety and Environmental Management Systems.
Your mission
Project Activities:
* Promote safe working practices and ensure the implementation of company HSE policy and procedures on site.
* Carry out regular site HSE inspections and report findings to relevant personnel.
* Ensure that the project has the necessary HSE documentation.
* Verify that HSE project plans meet company standards.
* Discuss HSE issues at project review meetings.
* Maintain clear records to comply with audit standards.
* Assist site managers and sub-contractors with risk assessments, evaluations, and documentation reviews.
* Deliver HSE training as appropriate and agreed with the Project Manager.
* Propose and promote initiatives for incident prevention, forwarding suggestions to the Project Manager / HSE & Sustainability Manager.
Competencies:
* Support incident investigations.
* Stay updated on relevant legislation.
* Communicate and promote BAM HSE ethos and values.
* Model safe behaviour.
* Perform other relevant duties as required.
* Liaise with legal authorities (e.g., H.S.A, EPA).
* Understand legal requirements, especially regarding PSCS roles and duties.
* Attend relevant HSE meetings.
Corporate Activities:
* Investigate accidents and incidents, report to HSE.
* Provide detailed causes, conclusions, and recommendations to prevent recurrence.
* Supply HSE information quarterly to the department.
Who are we looking for?
* Level 7 qualification in Health and Safety.
* At least 3 years of postgraduate experience in Project HSE Management.
* Thorough knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
* Working towards IOSH graduate membership.
* Ability to deliver internal HSE management courses.
* Ability to advise on HSE issues daily on site.
* Ability to conduct accident investigations.
* Ability to write HSE site reports.
* Environmental Management qualification is desirable.
