Role Summary: As a Social Care Practitioner, you will promote and maintain the highest quality of social support and care for our residents. Working closely with the clinical team, you will deliver assessment-based, personalised care plans that reflect both the resident’s needs and personal wishes. You’ll also supervise care staff, document interventions, and advocate for residents’ rights.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver high standards of person-centred care, respecting dignity and privacy.
* Support residents in daily living, promoting independence and well-being.
* Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure balanced care.
* Monitor and record residents’ progress using electronic documentation systems.
* Maintain compliance with HIQA standards and the Health Act 2007.
* Supervise and delegate to care staff effectively.
* Handle and support challenging behaviours with empathy and professionalism.
* Contribute to internal and external audits and inspections.
What We’re Looking For:
Education & Qualifications:
* Level 7/8 (Degree) in Social Care Work/Social Studies (preferred).
* Level 5 FETAC/QQI Major Award in a related field may be considered.
Experience & Skills:
* Minimum 1 year’s experience in a residential care setting.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong time management, organisational, and documentation skills.
* A deep understanding of health and safety standards.
* Passion for delivering high-quality care to older adults.
Additional Requirements:
* Flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends as needed.
* Commitment to continuous professional development and training.
* Ability to maintain a clean, professional appearance and adhere to hygiene protocols.
* Good physical and mental health, with the ability to perform the role reliably.
