Description
The Department of Physics and Astronomy at Clemson University invites applications for a postdoctoral research associate position in collaboration with the Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL). The selected candidate will contribute to research focused on the physics of renewable energy generation and storage systems, supporting partnerships in nuclear energy, advanced materials, and energy technologies with applications in space, defense, and biomedical devices.
About The PI Lab
Podila lab’s research combines fundamental science and practical applications using spectroscopic, microscopic, electrical, and electrochemical tools, with expertise in condensed matter and biophysics. Techniques include ultrafast photoconductance, photoluminescence, in situ Raman spectroscopy, Atomic force microscopy, and electrochemical methods. Computational modeling involves KWANT, TKWANT, and COMSOL Multiphysics.

Qualifications
Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Physics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Preferred expertise includes:
* Condensed Matter Physics & Materials Science
* Nanomaterials Synthesis and Characterization
* Electron Microscopy & Spectroscopy
* Electrochemistry & Semiconductor Device Physics
* Radiation-Matter Interactions & Energy Storage Technologies
* Computational skills (e.g., COMSOL, DFT) and device fabrication experience are pluses.
US citizenship is required; non-US citizens and permanent residents are ineligible.
